| Bio: | Most frequently asked question (aka- The Pie Manifesto):
"So, what's the deal with this pie thing? What made you determine that pie is the greatest of baked goods?"
Pie is a variety of things. It's a metaphor. It's a comfort food. It's dessert, or dinner, or even breakfast. Pie, done correctly, works for everyone. There's something immediately comforting about a thick wedge of pie that almost everyone I know automatically gets.
Pie is love, dammit, whether it be your mom making pie in the kitchen on a crisp fall weekend when apples are in season and letting you help (get in the way) with rolling out the dough, or meeting someone's eyes in a dark and sexy French place over a slice of tarte tatin, or sitting with your girlfriends at a bridal shower eating pie, or in a tropical paradise on an early spring day eating Key Lime with people you love dearly but don't see nearly often enough.
Pie is emotional connection plus dessert. Pie is a dying art. We're a generation of people who think a good pie comes from the freezer case at the supermarket. Sure, you can get pie from there, but real pie is the one that comes with a satisfying emotional experience, too. Send Pie= metaphor for feeling on a limb and wanting to be comforted, or rescued, or seven years old again demolishing a slice of apple crumble with no more pressing concerns than trying to get finished with a book report.

I'm 32, hail from the NYC metro area, and currently work in children's publishing.
In my alleged spare time, I read voraciously, sew for fun and frustration, show up at a club now and then, and sometimes co-moderate the CorpGoth Yahoogroup. I'm often found talking trash with you freaks on elJay.
Little known facts about me: I own a CrockPot, I hate cauliflower, I have been drunk in 18 states, three countries, and one congressional district (and counting), I have kissed a "rock star" and I *heart* the guy from Toad The Wet Sprocket. yep. my life is bigtime interesting.
